Stage 2 is best for:
Daily driven trucks, Heavy towing, mild tuning, and customers wanting a stronger, more reliable rebuild over stock.

How the core exchange works:
- You purchase the Stage 2 built transmission.
- Superior Diesel ships the built transmission to you.
- Your original 68RFE transmission must be returned as the core on the pallet sent.
- Core must be returned complete and assembled.
- Core must be the same transmission type/application
- Core must be returned within the required core return window of 30 days.
- Missing, damaged, cracked, burned, water-contaminated, or disassembled cores may result in reduced core credit or additional charges.
Core Refund Policy:
The $2,000 core charge is refundable within 30 days once your original transmission core has been returned to Superior Diesel and inspected. Core must be complete, rebuildable, and free of major damage. Any missing, cracked, broken, or non-rebuildable parts may reduce or void the core refund.
The returned core must include the transmission case, pump, drums, valve body, input/output components, internal hard parts, and converter unless otherwise approved by Superior Diesel.
Cores with a cracked case, broken major hard parts, missing valve body, missing pump, fire damage, water damage, or excessive internal damage may not qualify for full core credit.
Shipping details:
- Shipping of the built transmission to the customer is included for the lower 48 states.
- Core return shipping included in price
- Residential delivery, liftgate service, remote locations, Alaska, Hawaii, or expedited freight may require additional charges.
- Core must be drained, sealed, and properly secured to a pallet or crate before shipping back.
- Superior Diesel will contact you after purchase with shipping and core return instructions.
Important:
This transmission must be installed by a professional repair facility or qualified technician. Cooler and cooler lines must be flushed or replaced before installation. Proper fluid, fluid level verification, relearn/adaptive procedures, and break-in are required.
Fitment:
07.5-2018 Dodge/Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks equipped with the 68RFE transmission.
Warranty Disclaimer
Superior Diesel provides a 1-year workmanship warranty from the original invoice date. This warranty covers workmanship performed by Superior Diesel only.
Parts used in the build are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, if applicable. Parts warranty coverage, approval, and replacement are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and inspection process.
To qualify for warranty consideration, the customer must complete and submit the Superior Diesel warranty registration form after installation within 30 days of purchase.
Warranty consideration requires:
- Proof of professional installation
- Proof of transmission cooler flush or cooler replacement
- Proof that cooler lines were flushed or replaced
- Proof of correct fluid used
- Proof that fluid level was checked at proper operating temperature
- Proof that relearn/adaptive or quick learn procedures were performed
- For trucks with 35” tires or larger, proof of proper gear ratio change may be required
Warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, contaminated cooler/lines, incorrect fluid, low fluid, overheating, abuse, racing, excessive tuning, improper tuning, towing beyond vehicle limits, oversized tires without proper gearing, failure to perform relearn/adaptive procedures, or any issue unrelated to Superior Diesel’s workmanship.
Removal, reinstallation, towing, fluids, downtime, outside labor, expedited freight, and shipping costs for warranty claims are not covered unless approved by Superior Diesel in writing.
All warranty claims must be approved by Superior Diesel before any repairs or teardown are performed. Unauthorized repairs, disassembly, or outside teardown may void warranty coverage.
